Thank You Matt for sharing your experiences, which are differently not of the "expected nature". It's sad to hear about the manner of comments you encountered both in Kerala and US for your language and other attributes.... Happy that you could write about that along with the experiences of goodness in a few members of the Society and definitely looking at things with a hope.

Being a Jesuit and from Kerala (not in Kerala province, though I have many good friends there), I hope that the Society tackle these evils that exist within the members too. (I have not experienced these aspects in my formation). Best wishes for your life and appreciate the courage for sharing frankily....
